Field Service Engineer Laser

What are you going to do?

As a Field Service Engineer Laser, you are the technical expert our international customers rely on. You commission new laser cutting machines, perform service work, and solve technical issues when remote support is no longer sufficient. Using your knowledge of machine technology, automation, safety, and production processes, you ensure that customers get the most out of their equipment.

You will work at a wide variety of customer locations around the world, ranging from smaller steel fabrication companies to large industrial manufacturers. No two assignments are the same. One week you may be installing a new machine, while the next you are troubleshooting a complex issue to minimize downtime. In every situation, your goal is clear: maximize machine availability, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Although you work independently on-site, you are never on your own. Our Support and Service specialists are available to assist you whenever needed. We make sure every trip is well prepared, including travel arrangements, accommodation, transportation, and technical briefings, so you can fully focus on the job.

This Role:

• You ensure that you acquire all the knowledge of the laser machines and, as a specialist, you can switch between the technical operation and the process

• On location, you carry out repairs to solve problems, advise customers on the correct adjustment and provide training

• You ensure that all necessary documentation, (training) materials for the laser machines are available and, where necessary, you set this up yourself

• You work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to acquire knowledge and gather documentation that is necessary to be able to provide service & support

• You share your knowledge with colleagues and provide internal training where necessary

• You ensure clear communication about the status of your work to the customer and to your colleagues

• You can work both in a team and independently and you are proactive in this role.

We ask

• A completed technical education or technical knowledge gained through previous work experience;

• Experience in a similar role, preferably within the steel industry;

• Basic knowledge of software and robotics;

• Strong communication skills, structured, decisive, and a team player;

• Residing in the UK and Proficiency in English;

• Flexible, eager to learn, solution-oriented, and willing to travel up to 75%.
