Production Planner

What are you going to do?

Voortman Steel Machinery manufactures the most advanced automated steel processing technology available. We’re a rapidly growing Company, and we’re looking for a new and business-critical team member for our North American subsidiary, Voortman USA LLC.

You'll be expected to:

Be responsible for the preparation, planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of production processes. Your core mission is to ensure the seamless availability of materials, the accuracy of technical documentation, and real-time support for production teams.

You will work closely with cross-functional departments—including Purchasing, Global Planning, Projects, and Warehouse—to guarantee that production is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with quality standards. The role demands strong analytical thinking, technical know-how, and a collaborative mindset to foster operational excellence across the production lifecycle

Responsibilities

• Create and manage production orders and projects, ensuring Bills of Materials (BOM) are complete and accurate.

• Set up and track production plans in line with forecasts and sales inputs.

• Prepare and distribute key documentation such as schematics, drawings, NC data, and work instructions.

• Procure materials and tooling based on production planning and assembly requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Technical proficiency in production processes and documentation tools.

• Solid understanding of BOMs, routings, and manufacturing workflows.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and propose improvements.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration

We ask

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field is required

• Associate’s degree in a technical discipline may be accepted with equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering or production support.

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, mechanical design, or production engineering environment is preferred

• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and production planning tools such as Rob-Ex.
