Software Tester

Voortman Steel Machinery is a global leader in CNC steel processing machines, software, and services. Our DIGI-Steel division is a specialized development hub focused on delivering innovative cloud-based applications for the steel fabrication and machinery industries. We are a small, friendly, and highly skilled team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology.

We are seeking an experienced Software Tester to join our dynamic development team. In this permanent position, you will be responsible for testing our new cloud-based software platform, ensuring satisfying user interaction and fulfillment. This application will be utilized by multiple clients around the globe. As Software Tester you will work alongside our QA team to test this cloud-based application.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Running manual, automation, exploratory, and regression tests on new features and bug fixes;

• Performing backend root cause analysis through tools such as Swagger, Dynamo DB, AWS CloudWatch, and PostgreSQL;

• Creating and maintaining complex data sets for test case usage;

• Understanding requirements and creating detailed, comprehensive test plans and test cases;

• Identifying software bugs and producing detailed steps to reproduce them;

• Working closely with key stakeholders and the QA Lead to provide extensive test coverage;

• Engaging in daily interaction with developers throughout the Agile (Scrum) Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);

• Contributing to ongoing QA departmental improvements in procedures and automation testing.

We ask

• Strong technical aptitude with experience in both manual and automated testing, particularly using C# and Selenium;

• Proficiency in root cause analysis using tools like Swagger, AWS CloudWatch, and application logs;

• Solid understanding of API testing and experience with functional testing across web, desktop, and mobile platforms;

• Ability to design and execute end-to-end test plans and maintain complex test data sets;

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex software solutions;

• Effective communicator and team player who can work under tight deadlines and drive QA processes;

• Bonus: ISTQB certification, Playwright experience, or previous mentoring/senior QA role.
