Field Service Engineer Laser

What are you going to do?

As a Service Engineer, you solve problems with Voortman machines at our international customers and help customers to get maximum availability and output from the machines. The focus in this role is on the different types of laser machines.

As a specialist, you know everything about our laser machine and you use this knowledge to help the customer if there are questions or malfunctions. In addition to technical knowledge, safety and process knowledge are also essential.

If a problem or question from a customer cannot be solved remotely by our support team, it will be transferred to the service team to go on location. On location, you are not alone; if you have any questions, your colleagues from the internal service are ready to help you. In this role, you are on the road a lot and visit international customers from smaller steel construction companies to large multinationals. This requires you to be flexible and to like changes. We ensure that you are well prepared for your trip. From the transfer and your plane ticket to the hotel and any rental car. Everything is arranged for you.

Our Service Engineers are part of the Customer Service department. This young and dynamic team consists of the disciplines Support, Service and maintenance. Different branches of sport with their own expertise, but they have one thing in common: all colleagues are professionals through and through. They know our machines and the associated parts inside and out. Moreover, we are the face of Voortman!

What are you going to do?

• You ensure that you acquire all the knowledge of the laser machines and, as a specialist, you can switch between the technical operation and the process

• On location, you carry out repairs to solve problems, advise customers on the correct adjustment and provide training

• You ensure that all necessary documentation, (training) materials for the laser machines are available and, where necessary, you set this up yourself

• You work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to acquire knowledge and gather documentation that is necessary to be able to provide service & support

• You share your knowledge with colleagues and provide internal training where necessary

• You ensure clear communication about the status of your work to the customer and to your colleagues

• You can work both in a team and independently and you are proactive in this role.

We ask

• A completed technical education or technical knowledge gained through previous work experience;

• Experience in a similar role, preferably within the steel industry;

• Basic knowledge of software and robotics;

• Strong communication skills, structured, decisive, and a team player;

• Residing in the UK and Proficiency in English;

• Flexible, eager to learn, solution-oriented, and willing to travel up to 75%.
