As a Work Preparator you are responsible for the preparation, planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of production processes.

Job description

What are you going to do?

Production Preparation & Material Supply

  • Create and manage projects and production orders with the accurate Bill of Materials (BOM).

  • Set up and monitor production planning based on forecast and sales

  • Prepare and distribute essential documentation including schematics, drawings, NC data, and work instructions.

  • Purchase materials and tooling for the assembly line according to material needs and the assembly planning

 Production and Technical Support

  • Act together with the responsible team leader assembling in solving technical or quality problems in the workshop.

  • Collaborate with purchase, warehouse, projects and other departments to solve issues efficiently.

 Estimating and Coordination

  • Estimate labor hours, resource needs, and material costs in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

  • Align production requirements with purchasing and planning teams.

Documentation and BOM Management

  • Generate and verify production BOMs and routings for each product.

  • Update technical documentation and work instructions based on changes and feedback.

  • Manage and reallocate returned and defect materials while preventing future waste.

 Process Improvement

  • Identify and propose improvement opportunities through observation and team feedback.

  • Support implementation of new processes or technologies that enhance efficiency or quality.

  • Stay current with technological trends and apply relevant advancements within the organization..

Quality and Manufacturability

  • Test and validate manufacturability of machines and foster continuous improvement of designs from an assembly and efficiency perspective.

  • Ensure production specifications and quality standards are met before execution.

Information Provision

  • Ensure accurate and timely information flow at the workplace, and to internal stakeholders as global planning and projects .

  • Maintain structured and consistent documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

 Reporting and Analytics

  • Develop and maintain production reports, queries, and dashboards.

  • Generate ad hoc reporting as needed to support operational decisions.

Job requirements

We ask

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field is required.

  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline may be accepted with equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering or production support. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, mechanical design, or production engineering environment is preferred.

  • Experience working with ERP systems SAP and production planning tools such as Rob-Ex.

  • Proficiency with 3D CAD programs as e.g. SolidEdge or E-Plan is an advantage.
