Graduation Assignment: Vision-Based Feature Recognition

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

This project aims to modernize and optimize the front edge measurement process of materials by replacing traditional sensor-based methods with a vision-based feature recognition system. The proposed solution involves specifying a reference point—such as a center point created by a drill—at the beginning of the nesting. This mark is then automatically detected by a vision-based recognition device positioned near or integrated into the upcoming machines in the production line.

The recognized reference point serves as the new alignment origin for subsequent saw cuts, improving accuracy, reducing manual calibration, and enhancing overall production efficiency. The project will explore suitable recognition technologies (e.g., camera systems, machine learning algorithms), integration with existing control systems, and validation through real-world testing.

• We are looking for HBO ICT- Software Engineering;

• Familiarity with image processing is an advantage.
