What are you going to do?
Do you want to apply your knowledge to develop innovative machines that help advance the global steel processing industry? As a PLC Software Engineer, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary product development team. Together with Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineers, you’ll design and develop the next generation of machines, from concept to realization.
What makes this role challenging? You’ll translate complex functional requirements into smart control software that drives our hardware components. You’ll work with Beckhoff TwinCAT within our software platform, Vacam, a desktop application running on industrial PC’s. This gives you the opportunity not only to program, but also to contribute ideas on architecture and the implementation of new functionalities together with our software architects.
You’ll be closely involved in the entire development process, from writing code to testing new features on machines in our Engineering Center. Here, you’ll see the direct results of your work. This combination makes your job varied, challenging and impactful.
Your tasks include:
Developing and testing new PLC functionalities in TwinCAT;
Collaborating with the platform team and Software Architects on software components;
Solving complex issues;
Working in bi-weekly agile sprints to complete planned tasks;
Aligning daily planning and progress with your team.
Job requirements
We ask
A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in (Technical) Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar;
Experience as a PLC Software Engineer;
A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude, focused on improvement and innovation;
A team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and working together;
Knowledge of software design is a plus.
