PLC Engineer

What are you going to do?

As a PLC Engineer, you will work in one of our multidisciplinary development teams on the control systems of new machines within the Voortman portfolio. You develop and improve the software that literally forms the heart of our machines. Your work is not only visible on your screen, but also in our R&D hall, where complete prototype machines are set up. This allows you to see your software in action immediately and further refine it together with colleagues.

You work closely with colleagues from software engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. This means you are closely involved in the entire development process, from concept to implementation. Depending on your experience, you will be given responsibility. Junior engineers learn on the job with proper guidance, while medior and senior engineers are given the space to influence technical decisions.

Your responsibilities include:

• developing and optimizing PLC software for our machines;

• validating software in our R&D hall on the Voortman campus;

• analysing issues and implementing improvements;

• collaborating with different disciplines within the development team;

• contributing to new concepts and technical solutions.

We ask

• A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in (Technical) Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar;

• A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude, focused on improvement and innovation;

• A team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and working together;

• Knowledge of Beckhoff/TwinCAT or CODESYS is a plus;

• Knowledge of software design is a plus.
