Currently all our layout designs are drafted by hand, based on the output of customer data analysis. This data analysis gives a proposal for a number of machines. As graduate student you can help us revolutionizing our processes by leveraging customer data to optimize machine placement. In this exciting project, you will explore the world of data-driven layout design and how we can adopt this technique in our processes.

What are you going to do?

Analyze customer data to understand machine requirements and production needs.
Identify the essential information required for drafting an efficient layout.
Investigate the availability of existing algorithms for automated layout generation.
If no suitable algorithms are found, create a custom algorithm to optimize machine placement.
Collaborate with our team to integrate the algorithm into our production workflow.
Continuously evaluate and refine the algorithm's performance based on real-world data.
Present your findings and recommendations to the company's management.

We are looking for

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, Applied Mathematics, Business and IT or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and CPQ/CTO principles (preferred).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
