Together with over 600 colleagues, we at Voortman Steel Machinery work on state-of-the-art steel processing machines and the most innovative software and services. We are growing as an organization and producing more and more machines. We develop everything in-house. Both the machines and the software and currently we are looking for an Application Engineer to expand the team.

What are you going to do?

In addition to our machinery, we at Voortman Steel Machinery also develop various cloud applications. For example, a software development team in the Netherlands and England is working on a cloud-based MES/BIM software application. This software ensures that the work preparation of customers worldwide can be automated. This software is ahead of competing applications. To further develop this application, we are looking to expand our team with an experienced Application Engineer.

As an Application Engineer you will work with both the sales team to analyze customer data to produce feasibility studies for the Voortman Fabricator, our welding robot, as well as being responsible for onboarding detailers and production engineers who will prepare data to run the Voortman Fabricator. You will work on:

Collaboration with the sales, analyzing potential customer models to produce feasibility detailed studies;
Produce detailing guides to educate detailers with best practices, ensuring customers maximize throughput on the fabricator;
Present software solutions to leverage benefits of the Fabricator;
Delivery of the highest-level customer service;
Assist Product owner to analyse future enhancement to maximize client satisfaction.

5 Years experience using a 3-D CAD/CAM package;
Understanding of Fabrication and weld processes;
Great customer service skills and a customer service-oriented attitude;
Onboarding of customers with the Fabricator;
Understanding principles of structural design;
Good communicator, with a command of the English language;
A passion for solving complex problems and the ability to learn new skills quickly.
