Cloud Solution Architect
Together with over 600 colleagues, we at Voortman Steel Machinery work on state-of-the-art steel processing machines and the most innovative software and services. We are growing as an organization and producing more and more machines. All software is also developed in-house and currently we are looking for a Cloud Solution Architect.
What are you going to do?
In addition to our machinery, we at Voortman Steel Machinery also develop various cloud applications. For example, a software development team in the Netherlands and England is working on a cloud based MRP/MES software application. This software ensures that the work preparation of customers worldwide can be automated. This software is ahead of competing applications. To further develop this application, we are looking to expand our team with an experienced Solution Architect.
As a solution architect you will work with the platform stakeholders and will be responsible for defining the solution view for specific problems in the platform, from the application, data, and infrastructure perspectives.
- You will define and own solution architecture for new features and solutions within the cloud-based application.
- Manage architectural risk and debt at a solution level.
- Clearly communicate architecture within the architecture and development teams.
- Work with the stakeholders to ensure all aspects are covered within the architecture.
- You research new possibilities for the use of the web application.
- You ensure that databases are built properly, maintain quality, and ensure that the information is exchangeable.

We are looking for
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar;
- Extensive Experience in Data architecture & Modelling;
- Well drilled in Risk assessment and management, proactively mitigating risk;
- Previously executed a Design Driven architecture and experience with Microservices, Pipelines and Containerization;
- You are used to working with Agile / Scrum methodologies.
