Do you have a passion for technology, are you customer focused and do you enjoy performing inspections and maintenance on our machines at international customers? Then you might be the Field Maintenance Engineer we are looking for.

What are you going to do?

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will perform inspections on Voortman machines at our international customers for maintenance advice. Once the customer approves the inspection report, you will also perform the maintenance on-site The visits for both inspection and maintenance are planned - in advance, so you know exactly what your schedule looks like. You will be on site for one to five days, depending on the scope of the job. This means you are often away during the week and on weekends you are usually at home. Your colleagues in the office are always there to answer your questions, so you won’t be alone.

In this role you will be on the road a lot, visiting international customers ranging from smaller steel builders to large multinationals. This requires you to be flexible and adaptable to changes. We will make sure you are well prepared for your trip. From the transfer and your plane ticket to the hotel and a rental car if necessary... Our in-house travel team takes care of everything for you.

Our Maintenance Engineers are part of the Customer Service department. This young and dynamic team consists of the disciplines Support, Maintenance and Service. Different branches with their own expertise, but they have one thing in common: all colleagues are professionals at heart. They know our machines and their components through and through. Moreover, they are the face of Voortman at our customer!

Further tasks are:

  • You contribute to keeping every Voortman machine in top condition;
  • You carry out periodic inspections of the machines at our international customers;
  • Based on the maintenance advice given, you will also perform maintenance yourself on location;
  • You will actively contribute ideas on how to improve inspections and maintenance at Voortman;
  • You ensure clear communication about the status of your work to the customer and your colleagues;
  • You work alone or in a small team. Being able to work independently is therefore a requirement.

We are looking for

  • You have a strong mechanical background from a technical secondary education or relevant work experience. It is also a plus if you have knowledge or experience with electrical engineering;
  • You are an adventurer who likes to see the world and have no problem being away from home during the week;
  • You are disciplined, customer-oriented and can oversee and assess different situations;
  • Due to the international nature of the position, speaking English is a must.
