As a Software Engineer at Voortman Steel Machinery, you work on solving complex puzzles on a daily basis. Because building a machine or production line is one thing, but actually making it run; that is something our Software Engineers play an important part in. As a Software Engineer .NET, you work on the machine logic and ensure that all individual components are controlled and work well together. This involves high-quality and complex software that we want to continuously improve.
What are you going to do?
Behind every machine we develop is a software package we have developed ourselves, called VACAM. Every day, we work on this software platform from different teams to develop new machines, as well as improve existing ones. The software you will be working on is complex, because you are not developing the software for a customer-specific machine, but it is applied to multiple machines installed worldwide. This requires careful consideration of how any changes to the software will affect not just one but perhaps dozens of machines. In addition, the .Net software contains not only all the automation logic of the standalone machines, but also of the entire production line which makes it extra complex.
- On a daily basis, you will work in C# on VACAM, our in-house developed software package for machine and system automation.
- You investigate bugs in the software on the basis of reported problems. You solve them and then also come up with a structural solution.
- You implement new features in existing software at the request of Product Management.
- You deal with a wide range of challenges on a daily basis.

We are looking for
- A completed Bachelor's, Master or PhD degree in (Technical) Computer Science, Computer Science or similar;
- You have knowledge of software development in C#;
- Knowledge of WPF and SQL is an advantage;
- An inquisitive and proactive attitude; Together with your colleagues, you will take our software to the next level;
