Product Owner Cloud
At Voortman Steel Machinery, we develop and build innovative machines and production lines for the steel processing industry. All the (cloud) software is also developed in-house. In the Netherlands and England, a team of software developers is working on a cloud-based ERP/MES software solution. This can automate work preparation for customers worldwide. To expand the team we are looking for a Product Manager.
What are you going to do?
As Product Manager you will have a major contribution to the commercial success of the software application. You will identify the needs of our customers and the market. You will be in contact with our customers, visit relevant events and you will do market research. On this basis, together with the managers, you determine which strategic direction we should take and you create the product roadmap. You determine which functionalities need to be added to the application and prioritize them. You discuss these new functionalities with the software developers in the Netherlands and England. For new releases you provide support in reviewing documentation, training materials and manuals. In addition, you think along with the marketing team what their strategy should be and how we should market the application.
- You will do market research by talking to customers, analyzing competitors and visiting important events;
- Based on the data you collect, you determine the strategic positioning of the application;
- You will create the product roadmap. You discuss this roadmap with Sales, Business Development, the Business Unit Manager and the Management Team;
- You will have regular contact with consultants, managers, software architects and software developers in the UK about the current status and progress of new developments;
- You will support the release process and together with the marketing team you will think about positioning/ go-to-market strategy.

We are looking for
- You do have a degree in Business IT and Management, Technical Management, Business Administration, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or similar;
- You are able to quickly master systems and processes;
- You are strong in communication and can work well in an international team;
- You are entrepreneurial, able to make strategic decisions and set priorities;
- Preferably you have experience with Agile/ Scrum methodologies.
