Contributing to the development of Voortman: we have various support departments that are engaged in doing so daily. What comes to mind? Among other things, we ensure a warm welcome to our organization, but we also have specialists in areas such as finance, HR and maintaining and managing our ICT network. A wide range, in other words!

Our staff departments – particularly in the background – ensure that Voortman keeps running every day. At our organization, these are the departments Finance, Human Resources, ICT & Business Services, Management Support and Facility Management.
ICT & Business Services
We cannot work without our ICT network. Therefore, its maintenance and management are an important task. Our ICT specialists deal with the security of our network and our data: what do we do with our data and where do we store it? They also take care of all hardware and software within the organization. Our meeting rooms are set up to meet as effectively as possible: large screens, good audio systems and high-speed internet. This too is the job of our ICT department. They also take care of the issue and management of all laptops and cell phones. This allows new colleagues to have a good start on their first day. They receive an account with all the necessary licenses and applications. Do our colleagues run into problems? Then they can contact our ICT help desk!
At Voortman, we work with many automated systems. These applications all need to be maintained as well. This is done by our Business Service team, which works daily to further develop our applications. As technical specialists, they are constantly looking for improvements to our business processes. The team is working daily on how they can make the work of our colleagues even easier or, for example, make cost savings. Often the answer lies in digitization, a theme that is a priority of our Business Service team.
Human Resources
Our HR department deals with everything that revolves around people. They do this from four different disciplines: HR Advice, Recruitment, Employer Branding and Learning & Development. Our HR advisors are the point of contact for colleagues with all HR-related questions and are responsible for implementing HR policy. They are always up to date with the latest developments, rules and legislation. And of course, they know what is going on in the organization. Team Recruitment creatively recruits new talent for Voortman and ensures that they are motivated to join our organization. In this they are supported by our Employer Branding specialists, whose main task is to increase Voortman's brand awareness.
They provide innovative campaigns around Voortman as an employer brand, manage our website and update our social media. Our colleagues from Learning & Development ensure that knowledge within and outside our organization is safeguarded and can be transferred as efficiently as possible. They know everything about training and development and are responsible for the Voortman training policy.
Finance & Controlling
The Finance department manages and guards the purse strings. Whether it involves some financial accounts, such as creditors, debtors and our colleagues’ timekeeping records or creating and updating reports. They are jacks of all trades! The Finance department is in the same office building as team Controlling, which deals with project controlling. They are closely involved in client projects and control budgets and cost items. A heavy responsibility, but a fine challenge at the same time. Our Business Controllers constantly make sharp analyses and provide valuable input and advice in making strategic decisions.
Management Support
Welcome to Voortman! When you visit our Voortman Campus, you will be welcomed by a colleague from the Management Support team. They are the calling cards of our organization; the first face guests see when they enter. Every visitor is warmly welcomed and then escorted to the right colleague. In addition, the team mans our telephone lines continuously to assist callers with their enquiries. In between calling and receiving visitors, team Management Support manages calendars, performs administrative tasks and supports the organization of internal events.
Facility Management
Team Facility Management looks after the organization in the broadest sense of the word. The team includes our own in-house cleaning staff. They know exactly what standard we require and ensure that our offices look spick and span every day. The team also has a colleague who is responsible for our vehicle fleet. He manages cars and maintenance vans which includes getting these vehicles maintained. The Driver drives one of these fine vehicles, his duties include chauffeuring our customers to and from their desired locations. Feel like a cup of coffee or tea? Team Facility makes sure the vending machines are fully stocked throughout the day. What is more, they regulate the climate in our buildings, to ensure that it is neither too hot for you during the summer nor too cold in winter! They will also see to it that our new colleagues are given the appropriate work clothing and that they can access all the areas where they need to be. In short, team Facility ensures that our colleagues can carry out their work properly daily.

Speaking is Koen Lubbers, Financial Controller at Voortman. Koen has been with the organization since 2021 and joined us immediately after he completed his studies.
"Ultimately, we all need each other in the department, which ensures that you have a lot of contact with each other. Besides hard work, there is also time for sociability.... That's very important to us."

Automation
An essential theme within the ICT department
Automating our machines and software is crucial, but we are also working hard to automate the online environment within Voortman. Senior System Administrator Jan Schulenburg explains, "The organization is growing very fast. Every month new people join us or colleagues move on to new positions. Now we still have to adjust all this manually in the internal systems, but soon this will be automated. That will save a lot of time and frustration in the future!"
Jan has been working at Voortman as an IT'er for nine years. "In those years, a lot has been invested in new software and hardware. With the goal of making everything as easy but also secure as possible for our employees. This ensures that we can do a lot with relatively little manpower."
