In today's data-driven business landscape, the effective management of classification data is a critical element for organizations across various industries, including Voortman. Classification data is essential for the efficient organization, searchability, and retrieval of information. It plays a pivotal role in functions such as content management, webshop management, data analysis, and decision-making processes.

What are you going to do?

However, the maintenance and enrichment of classification data can be a labor-intensive and error-prone task when performed manually. The data is generated at various sources (e.g. suppliers) at immense volume with differing structuring. The data could be documents, reports or other textual resources. Extracting and utilizing this valuable information to enhance existing classification data poses a significant challenge.

In response to this challenge, the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies has emerged as a potential solution. AI-powered systems can analyze text documents, identify key entities, extract relevant keywords, and determine relationships, thereby assisting in automatically augmenting and improving classification data. These advancements have the potential to streamline data management processes, enhance data quality, and ultimately drive more informed decision-making.

The primary objective of this assignment is to leverage AI and NLP techniques to develop an automated system capable of enhancing classification data with information extracted from textual documents.
