During your internship at Voortman, you'll work in the software department responsible for developing the software that runs on our machines. Using our own platform, VACAM, we create powerful solutions. You'll contribute to advanced technologies that control our machines and enhance efficient steel processing.

What are you going to do?

We have developed a 3D collision model for our V623 machine, which enhances our solution by reducing code complexity within the PLC, enabling precise 3D collision checks, and aligning closely with the mechanical model. Currently, this model is only implemented in the V623.

The goal of this assignment is to implement the same 3D collision model across our other drilling machines.

Research

Investigate the architecture and differences in the other drilling machines that will affect implementation.

Evaluate best practices for transitioning existing PLC code to accommodate the new model.

Deliverables

A clear, executable transition plan for adopting the 3D collision model in other drilling machines.

Develop and demonstrate a prototype implementation on one of the machines.

We offer
