DIGI-STEEL is a start-up and member of the Voortman Steel Group, which is one of the market leaders for steel machinery. With DIGI-STEEL we introduce the first fully cloud-based software solution for steel processors. It is the next generation steel workshop management software guiding our customer’s factories into the smart industry 4.0 era.

What are you going to do?

We want to develop software solutions that can easily be used in a factory or at the building site. A mobile phone or tablet might not always be the easiest solution. A welder has a whole suit on including welding gloves, at the building site one might be high up on a beam, and there might be more cases where it’s not easy to take and use a mobile phone.

In the smart factory of the future, it’s still important to get information to and from these people performing skilled labour. Several areas are important:

  • Tell the person which work needs to be done (planning)
  • Digital work instructions
  • Get feedback about the progress

We would like you to look at the use cases and the people in the factory, research which alternative solutions we have to a regular (web) app. This might include designing one or multiple solutions for any of the use cases and a feasibility study (cost obviously plays a factor as well), for example by making a prototype. This can entail all kind of solutions: think about augmented reality, laser-projected layout instructions, use of audio, and anything else you can think of.

We offer

  • An allowance of €450 gross per month;
  • A travel allowance from 15 km and max. 30 km one way;
  • High-quality equipment and materials that you need to do your job well;
  • Whether you are a graduate or an intern; you are an integral part of our team. We think that's very important;
  • A very instructive internship or graduation period at our innovative organization;
  • All freedom and responsibility to successfully complete your assignment.

We are looking for

  • You follow Advanced Technology, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, Interaction Technology or Industrial Design Engineering.
